Nick Bjugstad to Start Saturday Against Washington
Just hours after I published my article pondering the future of top prospect Nick Bjugstad, the Florida Panthers announced that the hulking centerman would be joining the club for the remainder of the 2013 season. Considering the Panthers remained relatively dormant at the deadline, the news of Bjugstad’s ascension should be the hot topic for Panthers’ fans heading into the upcoming weekend.
“Nick is going to be here,” Tallon said. “We have 11 games left. This will be a good learning experience for him. If he does well, it will make it that much easier for him at training camp next year. It’s a good chance to evaluate him.” - Panthers’ General Manager Dale Tallon told George Richards of the Miami Herald.

Trouba to the NHL, is Nick Bjugstad Next?
News broke on Tuesday evening that the Winnipeg Jets’ top defensive prospect Jacob Trouba would be leaving the University of Michigan to compete at the NHL level for the remainder of the 2013 season. With all but four collegiate teams already finished with their seasons, more top prospects like Trouba will be faced with the tough choice between staying in school, or moving on to the NHL. One prospect currently pondering this decision is none other than the Florida Panthers’ behemoth of a centerman, Nick Bjugstad.
