In an added bit of news after a tumultuous morning in South Florida, Florida Panthers Assistant GM/San Antonio Rampage GM Mike Santos announced this afternoon that Tom Rowe has been named the new head coach of the San Antonio Rampage, replacing Peter Horachek who was named the new interim head coach of the Panthers earlier today after the firing of Kevin Dineen.
While there was some speculation that former Rampage head coach Chuck Weber may return to the bench, he instead will continue to maintain his current position with the team as associate head coach and director of hockey operations.
“We are excited to welcome Tom to the organization,” said Santos in a press release sent out by the team. “He is an experienced and well-respected coach and we expect this to be a seamless transition. Both Tom (Rowe) and Chuck (Weber) will work together to ensure that our prospects continue to develop in a winning environment in San Antonio.”
