I’m going to take a break from writing about hockey this morning.  Since I’ve been at this blogging writing thing for the past three years, I’ve made a great number of friends.  People who are staunch supporters of our site, and people who have been very gracious with their help and advice along the way.  There are many people to thank for what they’ve done,  and I can never catch up to all of them.  However today I’m taking time out to help one of the Rat Trick’s Panther Parkway’s faithful followers, and a huge Florida Panther fan, Donna Schaneen.  You might know her on Twitter as @Mushmellows. 

Donna is running to raise money for cancer.  This has been a mission of hers ever since her mother passed away from pancreatic cancer at age 48.  I am sure that almost everyone knows somebody who has been afflicted with one form of cancer or another, and as a way to show appreciation for Donna’s support to us here at Panther Parkway, today’s article is about asking you to help Donna in her cause.  She is currently in the process of raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and an upcoming race in October in San Francisco.  Her goal is to raise $3,550.00, and as of last night when I prepared this post, she was at $1300.

I realize that times may be tough for some, but if there is any way that you can make even a small donation for her cause, I know that Donna will appreciate it very much.  She has created a website called Run Donna Run, and you can easily make a donation here to help her reach her goal.  Maybe you can’t make a donation, but instead maybe you can spread the word by using social media and direct people to her site, or just Tweet this article.

Good luck Donna.  We here at Panther Parkway hope you not only reach, but surpass your goal for this run.
